To submit an exhibition proposal

Please ensure that you understand the gallery rental conditions (see below).

Proposals should include:

• a brief exhibition outline
• preferred space/s >>Floor Plan
• preferred dates >> 2010 Dates
• your e-mail, phone numbers and postal address.
• Website address, or
• up to 5 jpegs not exceeding 100k each, or
• for postal submissions, photographs or CD of recent work,
• C.V.

The gallery is focused on maintaining a contemporary profile. Selection is based on the current needs of the exhibition program including a balance between 2 and 3 dimensional works as well as a cross section of media.

Your submission will be considered by the gallery committee within two weeks.
On acceptance, a payment of $150.00 is required within 2 weeks of the acceptance date. This payment consists of $100.00 as a deposit for the hire of the gallery. The remaining $50.00 bond will be refunded to you at the end of your exhibition if the gallery, kitchen/bar facilities and equipment are left in an acceptable condition. The balance of your rental fee is required 1 week prior to the opening of your exhibition.

Rental cost

A TWO week show is preferred by the BIA and is recommended in order to give a range of viewers sufficient time to get to the gallery.

Gallery rental for two weeks:-

• Space 1A Gallery NONA $ 300.00 (plus $50 refundable bond)
• Space 1B Gallery NONA $ 300.00 (plus $50 refundable bond)
• Utilize both Spaces 1A and 1B $ 500.00 (plus $50 refundable bond)

Current BIA members are entitled to a 10% discount. Longer periods can be negotiated but are not advised NOTE : It is highly recommended that artists and exhibitors visit the gallery and discuss arrangements with the gallery staff prior to booking in order to be familiar with the spaces and the way the gallery is set up


Rental conditions

• Gallery NONA opening hours:- The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm.
When renting the space week-end opening times are the responsibility of the artist.

• Promotion of exhibition:– It is the artist’s responsibility to promote the exhibition (i.e. printing and mailing costs).
If you provide information and an image of your work the BIA can facilitate a bulk mail out to our email list.


• Hanging of Work:- Works may be hung using pins nails, screws or picture hanging hooks. Plinths are available for 3D works.
BLU-TACK, STICKY TAPE, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF ADHESIVE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO USE FOR HANGING WORK.


• Opening Night:- Kitchen/bar facilities are available. The artist is responsible for catering and the clean up after the opening. Due to the security system, openings need to finish by 8.30pm and clean up by 9.30pm. The building must be securely locked.

• Sale of Work:- Labelling, signage and sales are the responsibility of the exhibitor.

• Clean up Procedures for Gallery:- Supplies are available for clean up from administrative staff – filler, sandpaper, paint, roller and tray.
1. Rub out any pencil marks etc.
2. Fill all holes using filler, sand back when dry and paint using roller and paint supplied.
3. Plinths need to be left in good condition.
4. Clean roller and tray in sculpture room sink at back of building.
5. Sweep or vacuum gallery floor. 6. Return all equipment to the administration staff.
